Diagnostic Radiologist

Part of the community for more than 60 years, WRG has developed strong ties and trusting relationships with local physicians and patients. WRG is looking for a motivated radiologist to continue growth of a successful well established independent practice.

Fellowship (or equivalent) in diagnostic radiology is preferred.  Prior teaching experience is a plus.  You must be ABR certified or ABR eligible.

WRG is a hybrid private/academic multispecialty practice with 21 radiologists involved with our own residency program through the University of Kansas-Wichita.  Our main hospital is a community/tertiary care, level one trauma center.   Most staff enjoy their primary subspecialty, but do spend time rotating through other select areas.  Our group emphasizes teaching focused on areas of subspecialty interest.  Non-interventional radiologists provide general evening/weekend call coverage with residents providing overnight coverage.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Radiologic Technologist with a strong interest in mammography. Don't worry if you haven't had previous mammography experience; we will provide comprehensive training to help you become proficient in this specialized field.
Some job duties include:
1. Performs radiographic imaging procedures. Operates radiography and imaging equipment to successfully perform procedures, and devises a plan of action that considers patient condition and diagnosis.
2. Understands and uses correct exposure factors, compression and angulation in order to produce high quality images.
3. Evaluates images for technical quality, manipulates display parameters, and provides hard copy records as needed, assuring proper identification is recorded as specified by imaging procedure.
4. Prepares patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
5. Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
6. Determines if the procedure was sufficient, or if additional imaging procedures are needed.
7. Monitors the patient’s physical condition and ensures their comfort during the procedure; reports patient change of status or emergency situations to clinical staff and/or supervisor.
8. Correlates patient’s accurate clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use.
9. Responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process; has patient sign waiver if necessary.
10. Prepares facilities in accordance with procedural requirements; calibrates equipment as required by the institution.
11. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
12. Ensures compliance with MQSA Regulations and ACR Guidelines for accreditation.
13. Maintains records and performs daily QA for BMD equipment as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
2. Registered with the American Registry for Radiology Technicians (ARRT-R).
