Full time position
Medical terminology, medical office reception, and/or medical scheduling experience required.
Some duties include:
Schedules appointments over the phone, carefully screening patients for new address, new patient visit or update registration, insurance or financial information and informs patient of adequate information that must be presented at time of visit.
Provides information to Clinic callers according to the Clinic’s Policies and Procedures; transfers calls as needed; works with central reception to ensure adequate phone coverage at all times.
Gathers and sends patient medical records as needed to other offices and practices.
Maintains working knowledge of appointment system i.e. times of all clinics, duration of appointments, knowledge of computer system, doctors rotas, and procedures for booking routine and urgent appointments.
Assists doctors, techs, and office manager with small tasks as needed.
Additional duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts.
  • Screens patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance.
  • Prepares facilities in accordance with procedural requirements; calibrates and adjusts equipment; prepares contrasts and materials; cleans and disinfects equipment in accordance with sterile procedures and standards.
  • Determines appropriate methodology and techniques to use; arranges immobilization and/or support devices for proper patient positioning; adjusts shields; selects appropriate imaging device.
  • Obtains patient history, explains procedures to patient, addresses patients’ concerns, and follows established pre-screening policy and procedure.
  • Follows prescribed procedure in the administration of MRI study or radiography.
  • Monitors the patient’s physical condition during the course of the procedure; report patient change of status or emergency situations to clinical staff, supervisor and/or cardiologist.
  • Evaluates MRI scans for technical quality and appropriately label.
  • Maintains accurate patient documentation, including computerized documentation.
  • Performs general office duties: maintains stock supplies, assists administrators in determining quantities for purchase, records procedure codes for billing purposes, and scheduling patients.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and document errors or equipment malfunctions; escalate issues and concerns to engineer, supervisor, and/or radiologist.
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Graduate of accredited medical school and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology - ARRT (R). ARRT (MR) preferred, may be required.
  • Maintains state license as a general radiographer in the state(s) in which employed and practices.
  • One year of current experience within the last three years in a comparable job classification required.
  • Maintenance of current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for HealthCare Workers or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification for HealthCare workers.
  • Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations; maintains strict confidentiality of client information.
  • Understanding of MRI processes and procedures and able to effectively carry out with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to operate MRI imaging equipment and software.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to customers, coworkers and management.
